The Goo Goo Dolls - an alternative rock band - were formed in 1986 by guitarist/vocalist Johnny Rzeznik, bassist/vocalist Robby Takac and drummer George Tutuska. The band was formed in Buffalo, New York, initially under the name the Sex Maggots.

One of the most famous hits by the Goo Goo Dolls is 'Iris' is featured on the soundtrack to the 1998 film 'City of Angels' and on their album Dizzy Up the Girl.
